April Challenge - Day 10 - 16: Bad poster...

I've been a terrible blogger. Just terrible. It's been a jam packed week but that's no excuse for bad blogging. Rather than trying to make up each day as I have done before - I'll save everyone's time by putting it all into one blog posting.

Monday - cardio - 7k on the dreadmill, I mean treadmill.
Tuesday - weights (focusing on arms)
Wednesday - cardio - 6k with the Sporting Life team at Queen's Park.
Thursday - weights (focus on legs)
Friday - after having dinner with a client, it was to the gym to concentrate on core. I can't say this was the best idea this week
Saturday - I was pretty sick, so my focus was on exercises that wouldn't aggrevate my stomach...so it was just arms today.
Sunday - 8k run - felt good, but would have been better outside

This week, I'll be better at posting. I promise.

March Challenge - Day 15: Youtube Symphony Orchestra

For all you music lovers out there, at 5AM EST, Youtube is set to premiere its first Symphony Orchestra by streaming it live from the Sydney Oprah House. A year ago, Youtube asked people to audition by submitting their videos, and the public voted on who should be selected for the orchestra.

If you're up early enough, check it out at:
http://www.youtube.com/symphony

Youtube showcases each of the members of the orchestra and their audition videos. Google Maps features the locations of where the musicians are coming from around the world. They are also getting the audience involved through augmented reality - users can either print out or snap a photo of it onto their mobile device, activate their webcams and start making their own music by moving the AR bar code along a series of virtual strings. You can record your masterpiece and email it to a friend.

However, Youtube / Hyundai seems to have missed out on an excellent opportunity to design a contest around this and allow a channel for all recorded masterpieces created by this AR experience to be posted, viewed and perhaps voted on by the online community. They also missed out on other SM channels like FB and Twitter and to attract others who might not have known about the Youtube Symphony to go to the site and create their own video.

Try it out - and share with your friends your musical talent using the AR experience. Better yet, if you can wake up early enough, enjoy the symphony play live from the comfort of your own home.

February Challenge - Day 15: Cake

Cake. The epic solution to birthdays, special occasions and stressful situations. Today, we celebrated a co-workers birthday with a vanilla cake, decorated with loads of whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles and topped with 10 Oreos.

This cake came at such a great time...4pm. The apex of a stressful day. It's close enough to the end of the day that you know you only have an hour left to get anything approved by client, and there's an hour left that your coworkers are started thinking about what they are doing for dinner. Basically, the perfect storm of no one delivering on anything you are asking for.

Therefore, you turn to cake. I cut myself a small sliver and after two bites, I inhaled the rest. Is this cheating? Perhaps. But I'd like to say I've balanced off this cake by walking to work this morning. A simple trade off for a sugary treat at a time where everyone else is in a diabetic coma like I am.

January Challenge - Day 15: Blue Monday

Oh, Blue Monday. The 3rd Monday of January, which is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. Why? Well, two weeks into everyone's New Year's, and no one is holding true to their unattainable resolutions. Fatties have stopped exercising and have opened up that bag of chips, smokers have begun to fill their lungs again with the sweet, sweet clouds of carcinogenic fumes, and lazy parents who've promised to spend more time with their kids stay later and later at work to avoid their nagging anklebiters.

Surprisingly, I seem to be holding true to my resolution and holding on strong through day 15. Also surprising was how Blue Monday wasn't so blue at all. Last week was a bit of a gong show, but today was relaxed and calm. The pessimist in me is staying cautious, wondering, "oh no, what will happen tomorrow..." but all in all, I didn't have a devil on my shoulder today, telling me, "it's okay, just one sip."

How did everyone else's Blue Monday go? Do share!
